BAUExpo 2020 - platform for all construction projects

Many interested visitors and satisfied exhibitors - this is how Hessen's largest construction trade fair ends after three days

Heavy stones, floor coverings or windows: the range on offer at this year's BAUExpo was once again diverse

"Four walls of your own make you free" - this quote was used by Lord Mayor Dietlind Grabe-Bolz at the opening of BAUExpo. Many people currently seem to see it that way: The 300 or so exhibitors at BAUExpo reported with satisfaction on the many good conversations they had during the three days of the fair. Although around 25 percent fewer people visited the trade fair than last year - many no doubt due to the many media warnings against visiting large events - the quality of the discussions was higher. Only visitors with real interest and plans visited the trade fair.

On Saturday, Udo Guhs from Judo reported that "the order books were already full" and that there were good inquiries and great interest in the topic of water treatment. "In the meantime, visitors were even standing in the aisle, so we are considering enlarging our stand next year."

The stand of the Allianz general agency from Marburg was also satisfied with the quality of the discussions: "Anyone who is really interested in the construction sector and wants to obtain information about it should visit BAUExpo. As an industry-only construction trade fair, it offers everything you need to know about building, living and renovating."

The XXXLutz kitchen exhibition was also constantly busy - people with cell phones, folding rulers or construction plans were getting advice on kitchen planning. Some kitchens were sold directly at the trade fair. At many stands, there were "for sale" notices on exhibits such as armchairs, saunas and wooden furniture.

"We don't need the masses of people, but the right visitors who are interested in our topic. And we had quite a few of them over the three days," explains stonemason Heinrich Müller & Sohn.

"We are delighted that BAUExpo went so well despite the somewhat adverse circumstances. This year, the majority of visitors are certainly planning investments and we are pleased to have brought these plans directly together with the implementation ideas and suggestions of the exhibitors at BAUExpo. The trade fair has therefore paid off for both visitors and exhibitors," explains Roland Zwerenz, Managing Director of Messe Giessen GmbH.

Make a note in advance: In 2021, BAUExpo will take place from February 26 to 28.
